In 1975, the community began as a fellowship group of 13 Catholic families.

On August 8, 1977, the first Mass was celebrated at IHM Church with Fr. Seosoktae Benedict from the Benedictine Order.

In June 1978, the community moved to St. Thomas More Church.

On August 18, 1991, the current church building was dedicated.

On September 20, 1992, the church was officially named “Korean Martyrs Catholic Church of Atlanta” following the consecration ceremony.

During the tenure of the 8th pastor, Fr. Gabriel Byeong-Yeong Je, the old church was renovated and expanded into its current form.

In August 2011, a new community, St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church in Duluth, was established as a branch parish.

On October 13, 2019, Fr. John Young-Seok Lee, S.J., was appointed pastor.

On September 5, 2021, Fr. Michael Dongwook Koo, S.J., became the current pastor.
